The Long View
For this episode of The Long View, we will examine the game Paths of Glory, and try to discover what it is about this complex, monster of a game that has made it a fixture in the overall Boardgamegeek rankings. My guest for this episode is Dr. Justin Nordstrom, who shares his insights with me about this fascinating and enduring wargame.
Thanks for listening! Stay tuned for our next episode. We plan on releasing a new show once every two weeks from this point on. Thanks, as always, to 2d6.org for hosting The Long View. Please post your questions or comments about the show here on 2d6.org, or at our guild on boardgamegeek.com

The Long View: Paths of Glory,

Just so you know, the iTunes subscription seems to be broken… I’m getting a 404 error when it tries to download the file.
Wow, I didn’t know that. Thanks for letting us know. I hope you enjoyed the episode!
Well Tom, It is better that you listen to it hear anyway! That helps us out with people visiting.
I figured out what was wrong. The file had spaces in the name. I updated it and fixed it. It may take a bit for it to propagate to iTunes.
iTunes should be fixed for Paths of Glory now.. It is for me.
“Thanks Geoff Gambill and Doctor Justin Nordstrom for sharing your considered discussion about Paths of Glory and its surrounding topics. I’ll definitely be keeping my ear on this podcast for future intelligent discussions of interesting games. Kudos!”
Would love to hear a “Long View” on Dominant Species! Thanks for this episode. I’ve been curious about PoG for a while.
As PoG’s designer I just wanted to say thank you for the interesting conversation on the game.
You’re more than welcome! Justin loves this game, and he’s convinced me to take an even closer look. My goal is to learn it well enough before next year’s WBC so I can play it in open gaming. I appreciate your comment! I’m always a little geeked out when a designer responds to a post or, in this case, podcast I made. I know you’ve brought a lot of people many, many hours of enjoyment, so I’m flattered you enjoyed the show.
