Starlit Citadel Reviews Season 2 Fundraiser

13 October 2012 No Comment

Hello 2d6.org, my name is Kaja Sadowski, and I’m the writer and one of the presenters of the Starlit Citadel Reviews video series, which we’ve been posting here since March of this year. As our first season of production comes to an end, we’ve started planning for next year, and are reaching out to our viewers for help making Season 2 a reality — and better than ever.

By the end of 2012, we will have released a total of 58 videos, or about 1 a week since we started last October (with a hiatus in December – January because of the busy shipping season). We’ve been entirely self-funded up until this point, creating as much content as we’ve been able in order to provide our store‘s customers with the information they need to find games they’ll enjoy, and to contribute to the broader gaming community in a much more direct manner than is usually possible for an online retailer. We’ve really enjoyed this project, and have managed to connect with gamers around the world who use our videos to get feedback on games they want to play, introduce their friends to the hobby, and find out what’s new and exciting in the boardgame world.

For 2013, we’ve committed to funding 26 new episodes ourselves, or a release rate of 1 video every 2 weeks. We’d love to be able to make more videos and add new fan-focused holiday specials, theme episodes and other bonus materials, and have launched an IndieGoGo fundraiser to give our viewers a way of helping us make a bigger, better season happen.

Our base funding goal is $7,000, which would fully cover the production costs for another 16 videos: 12 regular episodes, and 4 themed and holiday specials. We’re also providing our supporters with a range of great perks, and will be updating the campaign with more offers and stretch goals as we get closer to the end date on November 24th.

We really want to make this next season special, so please feel free to respond with suggestions for next year, as well as new perks you’d like to see for our contributors. Please also don’t hesitate to share our videos and fundraising campaign with your fellow gamers and friends, even if you can’t make a contribution yourself.

Thanks very much for coming this far with us. 2d6.org has been a great platform for us to share our videos, and we’re really looking forward to giving you more reviews for some of the exciting games coming out in 2013!
