D&D Lair Assault: Into The Pit of Madness (thru 5/31!)

Into the Pit of Madness

Get ready to kick down some dungeon doors and conquer the vilest enemies in the newest D&D Lair Assault challenge, Into the Pit of Madness, at participating hobby shops across the country through May 31!  A Wizards Play Network in-store program, D&D Lair Assault: Into the Pit of Madness pits tactically-minded players against an ultimate challenge where strategy and adaptability (and little luck) is the difference between victory and defeat!

Into the Pit of Madness transports you deep into the Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun, where mad cultists have sounded the Wailer of Tharizdun, the dark god’s iron horn.  Now the ground trembles as the Chained God’s aspect struggles to escape. When it does, the Chained God will follow, plunging the world into Eternal Darkness.  This campaign draws inspiration from Gary Gygax’s The Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun and The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, as well as Monte Cook’s Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil.

Critical Review – Fantastiqa

Fantastiqa

As any good gamer knows, there’s a point where one type of game can get saturated on the market.  Currently, everyone and their brother (and their brothers!) has a deck building game. Dominion launched a craze, and everyone is getting in on the fun.  While most are fun, quantity doesn’t always equate to quality.

In the midst of a flood of similarity, there comes a point where something surfaces.  It comes in the door, quietly, cleverly and is simple but refined.  It goes unnoticed by the masses, but it soon rises to the top ,captures people’s attention as unique and differentiated and breaks the mold for the genre it is in. I’m happy to say, that in the world of Deck Builders, Fantastiqa not only does this, but does it like nothing ever has before!

Zombiecide (Video Review)

Zombicide

Zombicide is a collaborative game in which players take the role of a survivor – each with unique abilities – and harness both their skills and the power of teamwork against the hordes of unthinking undead! Zombies are predictable, stupid but deadly, controlled by simple rules and a deck of cards. Unfortunately for you, there are a LOT more zombies than you have bullets.

Find weapons, kill zombies. The more zombies you kill, the more skilled you get; the more skilled you get, the more zombies appear. The only way out is zombicide!

Play ten scenarios on different maps made from the included modular map tiles, or create your own!
