It is a small world after all. Did you know that people all around the world read and enjoy 2D6.org? Our top three countries that view 2D6.org besides North Americans (Yes, Canadians I consider you North American) are: United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The countries that tie for the least number of people who actually view are Turkey and Hungary. Speaking of which, all of our contests are open to everyone who is a member of our site, and we have made arrangements to ship our game giveaways worldwide!
Well it is near the Holidays! We have almost been working for a whole year and we want to celebrate. Just in case you didn’t the game that you’re hoping for this Holiday Season!
Why wouldn’t you enter?
All you have to do is tell us what makes your country a great place to play games, or be a gamer. This is in the spirit of togetherness and peace so keep it positive! I'm from Greece and I (still) live here. Maybe one would say Greece is not the perfect place for boardgaming as the weather and the greek lifestyle tends to make people go out more and avoid staying inside playing games but that would be wrong! Actually, playing board games outside under an open sky at a cafe, in a park, at the beach or while waiting endlessly for a train or bus to come is very enjoyable!! So if you ever visit Greece in the future (especially in the summer) bring some light games or cardgames with you!!

OfflineOne of the good things about Canada is the brutally cold winter means lots of indoor gaming time. Who wants to be out in the -30 weather when you can cozy up to the fire, have a cup of tea and play a good solitare or group game with family or friends. Its so much harder to get in the games in the summer when you just want to be out having a good time.
I am from the U.S.A. and it is the best country for gaming because it is home to so many great games. We invented D&D, Magic, Merchants of Venus, Quirkle, Apples to Apples and a bunch more Hey we missed on that Settlers game, but you win them all…

From USA. I live in a great place to play games because so many people are starting to open up to this hobby and it's like a brand new world to them. There are many friends here who are willing to try new games and to see them get excited about the hobby and introduce it to their friends has been very rewarding.
I live in the United States also and have to say this is an easy question!
We are lucky enough to be the home of the gaming capital of the world, Indianapolis!
Dozens of podcasters cannot be wrong.
Living in the USA is great as there is cheap shipping on ordering games from websites. Also, there are a lot of meetup groups that you can find to play with.
The USA is the best place for gaming because everyone in my gaming group live there. Well, actually they all live in the same house as me.

OfflineI live here in Columbus, Indiana. I have friends who have gone to the world championships in Settlers of Catan. I have a friend who has published dozens of gaming books. I have friends who video review games and friends who run 2d6! I am a very lucky gamer in that I am surrounded by excellent players and excellent friends. Also, I am an hour away from GenCon every year. Not too shabby

(I win. This is a game too, right?)
USA is great for gaming! So many groups no mater where you live, FLGS's that you can play at, and OLGS's where games can be had for cheap with free shipping. It's gaming heaven!
USA. Best place because with the cult of the new, I don't have to spend money to play the newest games – someone else has been inflicted and I can sit back and enjoy the ride (while still doing my part in other ways).

OfflineAustralia, here. It's an awesome country to play games or be a gamer. Being an island continent that is mostly semi-arid or desert, hosting a good number of dangerous animals and some of the most venomous snakes in the world, along with relatively small population, who needs imagination to go adventuring in a country such as mine?
Dark Sun? Check.
Post-apocalyptic wasteland setting? Check…

OfflinePoland is my country. Just until recently I knew only of a few polish games, yet the situation changed drastically! We have a young new designers emerging, a lot new game conventions and shops selling much more games your money in pocket allows you (yes, the last one is still an obstacle). Well, it is an honor and a miracle to border a country like Germany, which allowed us to play some really first-class games (in german though).
So, it is not Chess or Checkers or Mensch a(e)rgere Dich nicht (Pachisi).
An the best part – we just love to gather with friends, drink some beer and play some games together! It is written somewhere in our genes. Just like that.

OfflineAmerica is so great because I just love ameritrash games the best! Roll dice, kill things, tons of miniatures and components!
Darksome:
Canada is a fantastic place to be a gamer, and especially Toronto. Why? Because it’s so friggin’ cold and dark up here! What better, on a cold dark December day, than to hunker down and play games in the living room with the Christmas tree in one corner and a fire blazing in the fireplace? Also, at least in Toronto, we have a wealth of gaming resources at our disposal: 401 Games, Hairy Tarantula, Snakes and Lattes…the list goes ever onwards.
I live in Clearwater Florida in the United States and it is a great place to be a gamer. We have a great gamer group and beautiful gaming weather all year long. We also have great retailers like Coolstuff Inc nearby.
I am originally from Brazil but I have been living in Canada for more than 3 years now. Canada is a great place to play games first because that's where I found out about this amazing world of boardgaming. Second, it has a vibrant and friendly gamer's community, especially in Montreal, where I live.

Offlinethe best thing about gaming in the US, for me, is the ease of finding other gamers. i have my neighborhood gang, several weekly public groups, and at least 4 conventions a year that are close by. it ends up being more than enough, which is just excellent.

It is great to be a gamer in America. Considering how many outlets for games there are available (both B&M and online) and the ease with which one can find the latest Hotness (both domestically and internationally produced) it is indeed great to get your game on regardless of which game you have in mind. Viva the world becoming just a bit easier to get around!
