Dominion and Race for the Galaxy are two of my gaming group's favorite games.  I've bought some of the earlier expansions for both of them and enjoyed the additions to the game.  But specially for card based games like these it cost of the expansions don't always seem worth their added cost. (For example I enjoy the addittions of Dominion Seaside but its $30-40 cost seems excessive for just cards)

What board game expansions do you think are definately worth grabbing and which ones would you rather have skipped?

I think depends on how much you play the base game and if you are looking for something to refresh the gameplay. If you are not looking for new mechanics or still feel the game is pretty fresh then you can probably wait onthe expansion or pick it up used. Also an expansion may add to the number of players allowed and be desirable for that reason.

Dominion Prosperity is definitely worth the money and I have the first two expansions for Race for the Galaxy and they both add a little something extra to the play experience.
