James Dunnigan’s follow up on Origins of WWI, in this more popular setting. One of the earlier power-politics
games that he designed/guided in his career. Short (1/2 hour or so) area control game with some intriguing
possibilities for real negotiations, without sacrificing the historical aspects.

This classic game of the Fantasy Monster Slug-a-thon is a standby from the Avalon Hill of yore. The game still has a very devoted following, which is a tribute to the depth of the various strategies and approaches. The game is divided into two realms, the masterboard and the battleboards. Tyranno Ex (Video Review)

A unique system of environmental change which served as an inspiration (one must suppose) to Dominant Species. This is a much lighter game, heavy on die rolling, on the same general subject. No simulation, but it provides coverage of the same topic without violating believability so much.
