Hans Im Gluck, Pantheon, Hawaii, and the Decline of the Middle Weight Eurogame

My least favorite games tend to be mid-weight eurogames. They frequently seem to be stuck in an awkward middle ground, lacking the conciseness of the lightweight eurogames, the sheer ambition and magnitude of the heavyweight eurogames, and the excitement and immersion of thematic and conflict simulation games.
