It’s rare that a game is both challenging in style and also in its ability to be reviewed, but Fantasy Flight Games and Michael Menzel have thrown down that gauntlet with the recent release of Legends of Andor.

As any good gamer knows, there’s a point where one type of game can get saturated on the market. Currently, everyone and their brother (and their brothers!) has a deck building game. Dominion launched a craze, and everyone is getting in on the fun. While most are fun, quantity doesn’t always equate to quality.

If you hadn’t noticed, Arcane Wonders has made an amazing game with Mage Wars!  We gave it out Game of the Year award for 2012 and if the first expansion is any inkling, they aren’t stopping there!  Their first expansion, the Forcemaster and Warlord adds more cards for the base set mages and two new mages!  Add to it a host of new creatures, spells, incantations and abilities and it’s an arena busting good time!

Adventure Kingdom will put you in the role of a dashing hero or heroine, who will have to use their guile, their abilities, their pets and magical items, as well as a lot of luck, to escape the evil clutches of Castle Orm!

Last year, City of Gears won the “Steampunk Challenge” for best Steampunk themed game so when I had the opportunity to get a copy for review, I was very curious, being a lover of cogs, gears, clockwork anything, and of course, steam powered contraptions.

The recent Critical Review of the DC Deck Building Game from Cryptozoic spawned some good and healthy discussions!  Some people thought I was too light on it and others thought I was too harsh on it.
